Name Badge
It is obliged to use their name badges for all delegates, accompanying persons or company representatives during the scientific meetings, social programs and also at the entrance of Congress Venue, Exhibition Hall and Poster Area for congress security.

Commercial Exhibition
As part of the congress, an industrial exhibition will be at the central part of the venue close to all other congress activities such as lecture halls, poster exhibition, registration and recreation areas etc. In this industrial exhibition, the opportunity will be given to the companies from all over the world, to put on display their products, services and new technical solutions. Invitation Letter
Individuals requiring an official letter of invitation in order to attend the conference can write to the Organizing Secretariat. This procedure is designated to assist participants to obtain a visa or permission to attend the meeting and does not apply to registration fees or other expenses.

Certificate of Attendance
Delegates can receive their Congress Certificates on April 11,2008 from the registration desk.

Liability
In registering for the Congress, participants agree that neither the Scientific Committee nor the Organizing Secretariat assumes any liability. Participants should therefore organize their own health and travel insurance.

Changes
The Scientific and Organizing Secretariats reserve all rights to change the congress program because of the technical and/or scientific reasons.

Banking and Exchange Facilities
Foreign money can be changed at banks during normal business days (09.00-17.00 Monday-Friday) as well as at hotels, at the airport and in exchange offices. Exchange rates are set daily by the Central Bank. All major credit cards are accepted in most hotels, restaurants and shops.
Automated bank machines are available at many points throughout the city and at the airport.

Climate and Clothing
During late April the daytime temperatures are in the range of 20-22°C and evening temperatures are 17-20°C. We recommend you bring light clothes, and a sweater for cooler evenings.

Currency
The Turkish currency is New Turkish Lira. The exchange rate for Turkish Lira as of August 2007 is: YTL 1,35 = 1 USD - YTL 1,80 = 1 EURO.

Electricity
The electrical power supply in Turkey is 220 volts/50 Hz.

Restaurants and Turkish Cuisine
There is a wide choice of restaurants in Kusadasi offering a broad spectrum ranging from excellent national cuisine to first class international dishes. Traditional Turkish cuisine is famous for its many specialties prepared with fresh vegetables. There are lots of quality restaurants as well as fast-food shops in the vicinity of the hotels reserved for this meeting or in the downtown.

Shopping
One of the most enjoyable parts of a trip to Turkey is shopping for the rich variety of Turkish crafts. Kusadasi is a shopping paradise with its bazaars as well as the modern malls. Turkish carpets, kilims, suede and leatherwear as well as other items of clothing are the best buys. Copper, silver, brassware and jewellery are also choices for buying, along with works of ceramics and the famous Turkish meerschaum.

Pay phones and credit card phones are available at the meeting venue as well as in the city.

Time
Turkey is 2 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).

Tipping
Although service charge is included in most restaurants, leaving a tip at one's own discretion is appreciated.

Visa Requirements
Participants are requested to check with the Turkish Consulate in their home country or with their travel agency or at www.mfa.gov.tr for visa requirements. Entry visa to Turkey can also be obtained at Istanbul Atatürk Airport for a number of countries.

About İzmir
The most strategic port and the third largest city of Turkey, İzmir is located et te intersec tion point of many touristic centers. With a mystical history of 5000 years, İzmir proudly host a large number of extremely important architectural designs and archeological sites.
The touristic town of İzmir near the Aegean including  Ephesus , Pergamum, Focaea, Çeşme are well known for theri historical and cultural wealth.

By air
The nearest airport is at Izmir (Adnan Menderes, ADB), 25km from the congress center. There are different ways to reach congress Center from this airport. By taxi it takes 1/2 hour and costs approximately 30 Euro. Another way is to take the shuttle (HAVAS) to Izmir which runs regularly between downtown and the airport. From downtown Izmir you can take a taxi to the metro station of Izmir. There is metro service every half hour to Congress Kusadasi. Please kindly note that metros are available between 06:30 am to 23:30 pm.

 


By train

The extensive network of the Turkish State Railways connects most major cities and also Izmir. The trains have couchettes, sleeping cars, restaurants, and lounge cars offering first and second class service. For further information please visit www.tcdd.gov.tr

By car
You can find international car rental companies’ branches at Istanbul Ataturk  It take approximately 8 hours to drive from Istanbul to İzmir.
You can find international car rental companies at Izmir Adnan Menderes Airports. It take approximately 1 hour to drive from Airposrt to Ege Üniversity Congress Center.
